Joseph P. Slezak

Joseph P. Slezak, 73, of Black Plain Road, Exeter, RI, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, in Mashantucket, CT. Born on August 23, 1948, in Providence, RI, he was the companion of Donna F. Raymond. They were together for thirty years. He was the son of the late Ferdinand and Saima (Heikkila) Slezak.

Joseph was a nuclear inspector for forty years for Electric Boat, Quonset Point, RI, before retiring in 2016. Joseph was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hiking, canoeing, camping and bird watching.

Besides his companion Donna Raymond, Joseph is survived by five brothers: Steven Slezak and his wife Gail, John Slezak and his wife Carolyn, Robert Slezak and his companion Karen Sweet, Richard Slezak and his wife Kerri Lynn and Walter Slezak and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Burial will be in the Rathbun Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
