Julia A. Garcia

Julia A. Garcia, 101, of Woodland Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Respiratory Center in Coventry. Born on June 4, 1924, in Lincoln, RI, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Kate (Pina) Garcia.

Julia dedicated many years of her life as a skilled knitter for Healthtex in Cumberland, RI, before retiring in 1986. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cherishing time with her family, singing, dancing, and traveling.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Geraldine Ferreira (Michael); her loving grandchildren, Thomas J. McCarthy Jr. and Dawn M. McCarthy-Lane; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kaileigh McCarthy, Ashley Lane McCarthy, Ryan T. McCarthy, Mackenzie Lane, and Oliver Lane. Julia also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and spirit. She was predeceased by her siblings George Garcia, Caminda Tavares, Mary Garcia, and Raymond Garcia.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Julia’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
