Kathi Anne Piccirilli passed away at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, RI, on November 1, 2024, eight days before her 67th birthday. Born in Warwick, RI, she was the daughter of the late Guerino J. Piccirilli and the late Dorothy (Barlow) Piccirilli. She is survived by her siblings, Brother Leo Mary FTI of West Warwick, Barbara Piccirilli Al-Sabek of Barrington and her husband Mohamad Al-Sabek, and Nancy L. Piccirilli of Warwick. She was preceded in death by her brother and soulmate, James A. Piccirilli.
Kathi was for many years head of shipping for Stern Leach Co. of North Attleboro, MA. She became a baseball fan in 1967 and followed her team, the NY Mets, loyally through all their triumphs and tribulations to the end of her life. She was a passionate advocate for the cause of animal rights. Recently she became the Momma of Buddy, a beautiful Shih Tzu, who gladdened her life in her last months. She especially loved guinea pigs, and they loved her in return. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, the more difficult the better, true crime books, and the novels of Jodi Picoult and Wally Lamb. She was kind, brilliant, and empathetic, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Kathi, especially Beacon Hospice, the entire staff of Silver Creek Manor, the phenomenal staff at Lifespan Dialysis Center, her special friend Jeanne Thurston, and most of all our sister Barbara, who was there for her always.
