Kimi Hulting, 84, of Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick, RI. Born on January 13, 1935 in Saitama Ken, Japan, she was the wife of the late Richard A. Hulting. They were married for sixty years. She was the daughter of the late Ikujiro and Masu Watanabe.
Kimi was a seamstress by trade and worked for Bridal Showcase in Warwick before retiring. She loved family gatherings, traveling, and RV camping (snowbirds to Florida every winter). She was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Kimi is survived by a son: Christopher N. Hulting and his wife Judy, a brother; Yoshiaki Arai of Japan, a sister: Reiko Kuroda of Japan and a granddaughter Alicia and her husband Timothy and two sister in laws; Noriko Watanabe and Motoe Watanabe. She was predeceased by two brothers; Isamu Watanabe and Shigeo Watanabe.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 1:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held prior from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will be private.
