Linda D. Choquette

Linda D. Choquette, 69, of Plainfield Street in Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Woonsocket on June 1, 1957, Linda was the daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Gustafson) Choquette. She was born and raised in Rhode Island, a place she loved deeply throughout her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Auger, with whom she shared twenty-seven and a half wonderful years.
Linda was a woman whose heart was as big as her smile. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and loved, never making anyone feel like a stranger and always finding joy in connecting with others. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine interest in people left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. A lifelong lover of the ocean, she enjoyed quahogging and soaking in the beauty of the Rhode Island shoreline.
Creative by nature, Linda loved to paint and craft, always finding ways to express herself through art and handmade creations. She also had a passion for gardening and was delighted in nurturing flowers and plants, finding peace in watching them grow. Whether tending her garden, spending time outdoors, or caring for her beloved dogs, cats, or fish. She found beauty in the everyday moments of life.
Linda had a playful spirit and a special fondness for frogs, collections and keepsakes that reflected her joyful personality and youthful heart. Rarely without her camera, she treasured capturing every family gathering, celebration, and candid smile. Because of her, countless precious memories have been preserved for generations to look back on with love.
Linda was a woman of many trades and talents. She had a chef's passion like no other and shared her love through cooking.
Above all else, Linda cherished her family. She loved spending time with those she held dear, creating traditions, celebrating holidays, sharing laughter, and making memories that will live on forever. Her love was unconditional, her generosity unwavering, and her presence a source of comfort and happiness to so many.
She is survived by her children, Maurice Choquette and Nicole Choquette; her siblings, Richard Choquette Jr. and Cindy Williams; her grandchildren, Dakota Bettencourt and Breeauna Bettencourt; her great-granddaughter, Wrenleigh Bettencourt; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love and memories they shared with her.
