Louise P. Wilcox, 90, Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully with her granddaughter and goddaughter by her side on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at HopeHealth Hospice of RI, Providence, RI. Born on October 5, 1933, in West Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late retired West Warwick, RI, Deputy Police Chief, Carroll E. Wilcox and the daughter of the late Paul E. and Irene (Barrette) Pelletier.
Louise was a piano teacher for many years before retiring in 2003. She was a volunteer for Literature of America, played the organ for St. Mary’s Church, West Warwick, RI, for thirty-five years and for other various Catholic churches in the area.
Louise is survived by a daughter; Elizabeth “Betty Lou” Wilcox, a brother; Paul E. Pelletier Jr., two grandchildren; Anne Wilcox and Irene Wilcox and three nieces. She was predeceased by two children: Paul Wilcox and Susan Wilcox.
A funeral will held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 9:30 am in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 62 Pleasant Street, West Warwick, RI. A calling hour will be held prior from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Burial will take place in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
