Marilyn F. Nagy, 85, of Tulip Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, RI. Born on October 1, 1933 in North Kingstown, RI, she was wife of the late Karl E. Nagy and the daughter of the late G. Milton and Inez (Gardner) Freeborn.
Marilyn was a tax prepare person for eighteen years at H & R Block of Warwick, RI and Coventry, RI. She was a member of First Baptist Church, West Warwick, RI, the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, RI Antique Tractor Club, Model T Ford Owners Club, Little Rhody Model A Club, she was a sight manager, tax prepare person and former member or Slocum Grange #36. She was a founding member and past worthy adviser of North Kingstown Rainbow Girls #10, a member and Worthy Matron from 1992 to 1993 of the Martha Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, a volunteer at Coventry Senior Center serving on the advisory board, nutritional council, an instructor for there warp tax program and district coordinator for Kent County. She also belonged to the Coventry Senior Center Red Hat, Pawtuxet Valley Historical Society, Hope Historical Society and RI Post Card Collectors Club.
Marilyn is survived by two sisters; Carol Perry and Mary Andre and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters; Laurie M. Nagy and Kara Nagy and three brothers; G. William Freeborn, Robert M. Freeborn and Kenneth A. Freeborn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held prior from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Burial will be private.
