Marsha L. (Corey) Hummel

Marsha L. Hummel, 85, of Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hope Health Hospice in Providence. Born on December 4, 1939, in South Kingstown, RI, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Vera E. (Gardiner) Corey.

Marsha worked as a courier for ADP in East Providence and a driver for Purolator Courier in Pawtucket for many years before retiring in 2010 with more than a million miles driven and an unblemished safety record. She enjoyed playing the flute and piano.

She is survived by three of her children Tamara Goff, William Hummel (Sp. Diana), and Daniel Hummel (Sp. Tammy); seven grandchildren: Stephen Smith, Jessica Hummel, Eric Goff, Christina Hummel, Victoria Hummel, Nicholas Goff and Mia Rose Hummel and a great-grandson, Cameron Silva; siblings Marie Southland (Sp. John) and Dennis Corey (Sp. Joann); she was predeceased by three of her children Eric Hummel, Gregory Hummel, and Stephen Hummel.

A visitation will be held on May 22, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Insight, a wonderful charity that provides services for the visually impaired, of which Marsha was a member.
