Marshall M. Cowen Jr.

Marshall M. Cowen Jr., 78, of Hillside Avenue, Providence, RI, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Summit Commons and Rehabilitation, Providence, RI. Born on June 3, 1946, in Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Mary R. (Kramer) Cowen and the son of the late Marshall Sr. and Mabel (Gagnon) Cowen.

Marshall was a night watchman for Amica Insurance, Lincoln, RI, for twenty-five years before retiring in 2001. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and loved spending time with his grandchildren. At Marshall’s request please come dressed in attire other than black.

Marshall is survived by three children; Marsha Donovan, Marshall Cowen and Vincent Cowen, five grandchildren; Angel Cowen, Ashley Nerette, Linda Cowen, Lora Donovan, Vincent Cowen and a great granddaughter; Kemeline Nerette. He was predeceased by a brother; Martin Cowen and a sister; Mabel “Prinny” Cowen.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:30 am in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A visitation will be held prior from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Burial with US Military Honors will be held in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
