Michael J. Montanaro, 58 of Wheeler Lane, Hope Valley, RI passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born on January 6, 1965, in Providence, RI, he was the son of Maria C. (Montanaro) Bernard and the late John R. Bernard.
Michael was a self-employed painter for many years. He was an avid supporter and volunteer for the West Warwick Angels Caring for Animals, Inc., as well as the West Warwick Animal Shelter. To support them, He spearheaded several charitable events, including many motorcycle-runs. By nature, he was a beautiful, gentle, and unique soul with a very kind heart. Michael was an avid outdoorsman, who loved solitude, nature, all animals, riding his motorcycle, fishing, and eating his mama’s cooking. He was a champion of the underdog and helped anyone in need.
Michael is survived by five siblings: Deborah A. Montanaro, Mary Healy Raimondi, Gina M. Loccisano, Joseph V. Loccisano, and Roberto Loccisano, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved godmother, Dr. Sandra E. Montanaro Duclos.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. The burial will be private.
