Michael H. Smith

Michael H. Smith, 70, of Richmond, RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Kent Hospital. Born on November 26, 1954, he was the devoted husband of Sandra (Keener) Smith for 51 loving years. He was the son of the late William H. and Dorothy Anna (McCabe) Smith.

Michael was the proud owner and operator of Arcadia Wood Working, where he honed his craft for many years. He also worked as a skilled carpenter at Stanley Bostitch Company in East Greenwich. A true outdoorsman, Michael found joy in hunting, fishing, canoeing, and gardening — passions that reflected his deep appreciation for nature and simple pleasures.

He is survived by his wife Sandra; his son Patrick Smith; his sister Catherine Maxwell and her husband Robert; many cherished nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Rufus. He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Larrivee.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Coventry.
