On Tuesday, September 17th, 2019, Raymond (Ray) Giusti passed away at the age of 85. Ray was born on January 6th, 1934 in Providence, RI. Throughout his life, he lived in Johnston, Narragansett and Coventry. Ray was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. Ray’s interest in hunting led him to open the former Hunting Lodge Sportsman Shop in North Smithfield. He ran his business for many years and was also a lifetime member of the Wallum Rod and Gun Club.
Ray had many passions which ranged from golf and bowling to cooking for family and friends alike. He also thoroughly enjoyed collecting an assortment of personal treasures from auctions, flea markets and yard sales. More importantly, he was known for his kind ways, his ability to connect and care for others, as well as for his quick, gentle wit which was typically accompanied by a mischievous smile and a twinkle in his eyes.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Giusti and Ann (Wood) Giusti, and by his brother, Joseph Giusti. He is survived by his wife, Jaqueline Gray of Coventry and her daughter, Jody Gray of Massachusetts, as well as by his daughters, Ann Marie Clemson of Florida and Rose Dubay of Massachusetts. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28th at the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI, at 4:00 pm. Calling hours will be held prior from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Burial will be private.
