Raymond Siembab Obituary

Raymond J. Siembab, 94, of Main Street, Coventry, RI (formerly of Hazard Street, Coventry), passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, RI. Born on November 19, 1930, in Coventry, RI, he was the husband of Marie Lillian (Theroux). They were married for 74 years. He was the son of the late Peter and Leonide (Cotnoir) Siembab.

Raymond had a diverse and fulfilling career. Graduating from Coventry High School, he worked in various capacities for the A&P chain of grocery stores in several Rhode Island locations for nearly 25 years. He then went to work at Electric Boat in Quonset, RI. After 20 years as an inspector there, Raymond retired. He continued working with his son and business partner at Leaping Stag Antiques, utilizing his business skills, retail experience, knowledge of history and love of antiques and collectibles. Raymond loved cars and all things auto-related, especially being behind the wheel driving a good stretch of open road and traveling. He was eager to learn, open to new experiences and had the spirit of an explorer. During Raymond’s working years, while raising a family with his wife, Marie Lillian, there were many trips and vacations exploring the history and natural wonders of the United States. After retirement, Raymond and his wife were able to make their dreams of international travel come true – visiting and exploring Egypt, Turkey, Poland, France, Italy and many other places. Their last big adventure was a land and sea discovery tour of Alaska.

Besides his wife, Marie Lillian Siembab, Raymond is survived by two children: Patricia M. Giguere and Richard R. Siembab; a grandchild, Dr. Joy M. Giguere and her husband, Benjamin Proud; two great-grandchildren, Charles Proud and Raymond Proud; several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, Roland Siembab.

Raymond’s services will be private.

Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
