Raymond Scawthorn

Raymond C. Scawthorn, 66, of Hickory Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at home. He was the son of the late Raymond J. and Anna R. (Spano) Scawthorn. He was married to Darlene M. (Hebert) Scawthorn for forty-five years.

Mr. Scawthorn was a mail sorter for the US Postal Service in Providence, RI and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He received the purple heart medal during his tenure as a Sergeant.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son; Todd J. Scawthorn, and a grandson; Damien S. Scawthorn.

Military Honors will be held at the Gorton Menard Funeral Home and Crematory's Serenity Cremation Center on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Friends and family are invited to VFW Sgt. David Langevin Post #449, 197 Providence Street West Warwick, RI after the ceremony. His funeral and burial will be private and are also under the direction of Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
