Raymond E. Walason

Raymond E. Walason, 88, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Kent Regency in Warwick. Born on April 16, 1937, he was the husband of the late Shirley Walason and the son of the late Charles and Olive (Estes) Walason.

Raymond was a master electrician and the owner and operator of Walason Electric in East Greenwich for twenty‑five years before retiring in 1999. He was also a journeyman plumber and a certified arc welder. A man of many talents, he enjoyed working on his antique Jaguars and was a proud Golden Gloves Navy boxer.

He is survived by his children Donna Aziz, Linda Martin, Raeann Hayes, and Doreen Calise; his siblings Sylvia Lobo and Steven Walason; and his grandchildren Sabrina Walason, Raymond Newton, Jennifer Walason, Charlie Martin, Irene Martin, Samantha Amore, Brandon Hayes, Kristina Gallagher, Tabatha Walason, and Shannon Walason. He also leaves twenty‑one great‑grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Bates; his siblings Charles Walason Jr., Julia Walason, Frank Walason, Walter Walason, and Thomas Walason; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Hayes and Amanda Bennett.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Gorton - Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
