Rita J. (Meunier) Bates

Rita J. Bates, 75, of Freedom Way, Coventry, RI, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Hope Hospice, Providence, RI. Born on January 30, 1946 she was the wife of Eugene F. Bates. They were married for fifty-two years. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Yvonne (Trembley) Meunier.

Rita was an inspector for Weingeroff, Cranston, RI, for five years before retiring in 2009.

Besides her husband Eugene Bates, she is survived by five children; Stephen Bates, Jennifer Bates, Christopher Bates, Susan Lee and Kevin Bates, a brother; Raymond Meunier, five grandchildren; Monica Almonte, Martin Almonte, Curtis Lee Jr., Yvonne Lee and Mason Lee. She was predeceased by a sister; Claudette Meunier.

Rita’s services will be private.
