Robert C. Gruschow passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 71, from a heart attack.
Bob lived life boldly, humorously, and without much concern for convention. Being around him meant you never quite knew what he might say next, and that was part of what made him unforgettable.
Bob loved all things Georgia and was a devoted fan of UGA football. He visited his best friend from childhood, Joe, as often as he could. Bob’s other great love was golf and he played as much as any one person could play.
Over the last ten years of his life, Bob made the decision to live sober. Because of that choice, his family and friends were able to spend time with the best version of him. It is something his family is deeply grateful for, and those years together mean more than words can express.
Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son, Robert and his partner, Emily, and her daughter Olivia; and his daughter, Nicole and her partner, Ray, his brothers Cliff and Tom and their families. He was a proud grandfather to Maddie, Lili, James, and Chase.
Bob will be remembered for his humor, his independence, and the unmistakable personality he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
