Our "Pops", Robert (Bobbie) Marks, 79 of Windham, CT sadly passed away on Wednesday, April 26th. Pops died peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Providence, VA Hospital. He was born on February 24,1944 and the son of the late Donald and Grace (Gullifer) Marks of Waterville, Maine.
Robert was a loud and proud man. He was a US Army Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War and was honored to have served our great country.
He drove trucks for a living, cross country and local, retiring from St Johnsbury, Lincoln RI and Skram Transportation of Warwick, RI. Pops loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was infamous for letting everyone know, that a "well" is a hole in the ground.
He leaves behind his younger brother, Lloyd Marks of Tampa Fl. He always enjoyed their long-distance phone calls.
Bobbie would have celebrated 40 years of marriage to his wife Carmela (Alessandro) Marks.
Robert is survived by 4 boys; 1) Stephen, who lives in Poland with his wife, Anya and 2 daughters, Kasia and Julia, 2) Robert E Marks and his wife, Christine and 3 children, Melanie, Robbie and Olivia, 3) David Marks and his daughter Brianna and 4) Dana Marks and his wife Crystal and their 3 children, Jaelynn, Devin and Camrin. Pops also has 2 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed. May he now find comfort and relief.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A US Military Honors service will be held during the visitation at 5:00 pm. Burial will be private.
