Robert E. Merigold Jr.

Robert E. Merigold Jr., 83, of Lorraine Avenue, Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Born on April 7, 1943, in Warwick, he was the husband of the late Sally Jo (Cormier) Merigold. They shared forty‑nine years of marriage. He was the son of the late Robert E. Merigold Sr. and Josephine (Larivee) Merigold.

Robert worked as a sprinkler fitter with Local 550 in Boston, MA, dedicating forty‑one years to his trade before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating and camping with friends, fishing, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Robert E. Merigold III and Amy L. Lake (Thomas); his sisters, Cheryl May and Delight Merigold-McCoy; his grandchildren, Megan Merigold, Haley Merigold, Josie Lake, Alexander Lake ( Alexandria Knox), Nicholas Lake, Samuel Lake, Quentin Lake, a great‑grandson Remington Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Jo Cardin, and his siblings, Joanne, Barbara and Sturgis.
