Cherishing the Memory of Rosemary “Rosy” Lyons
Rosemary “Rosy” Lyons, 73, of West Greenwich, entered into Eternal Rest on March 28, 2026. She left this world in the gentle company of her closest friends, finding peace as she reunited with her family and her beloved dogs—Bear, Lady, and Jake. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. “Duna” Lyons Jr. and Margaret (Deignan) “Peggy” Lyons.
Rosy was the devoted aunt of Bethany Lyons and the late Timothy M. Lyons, and the sister of the late Francis J. “Gumps” Lyons.
For more than forty years, Rosy dedicated herself to the Narragansett Electric Company. Her pride in her home was unmistakable—gardens alive with songbirds, vibrant flowers, and the quiet beauty she cultivated with care. She loved the taste of eggplant parmigiana, aglio e olio, Diet Coke, and the simple joy of an ice cream sundae.
Her friends admired her energetic spirit and the way she transformed fabric scraps and swatches into colorful quilts, each one a testament to her creativity. Summer weekends often found her drifting from yard sales to farm stands, chasing treasures that sparked her imagination. Behind the wheel of her 1977 Camaro, she could lose track of time on winding back roads, searching for wild blueberry bushes or delighting neighborhood kids with the roar of her engine and the thrill of spinning tires.
In the winter months, Rosy found comfort sewing in her living room, warmed by the glow of the fireplace, before venturing out to explore Christmas bazaars and quilt shops.
Rosy felt truly at home with her bonus family, “The Salemi Kids.” Their bond was one of rare friendship and deep love—especially with her chosen daughter and best friend of 37 years, Jill (Salemi) Shappy, who cared for her alongside her dearest friend, Peter Caruso. Rosy treasured her bonus grandchildren—Peter, Ryker, Anthony, and Autumn—whose laughter and joy always brightened her days.
Rosemary’s service will be private.
