Sandra M. (Costa-Mello) Tiernan

Sandra M. Tiernan, 78, of Coventry, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Alpine Nursing Home. Born in Providence, she was the beloved wife of the late David M. Tiernan and the daughter of the late Antonio and Rita (Gaumond) Costa‑Mello.

Sandra worked as a housekeeper for W. Alton Jones in West Greenwich for twenty years before retiring in 2010. She cherished time spent with her family and friends traveling throughout Florida and the Caribbean, as well as spending summers on Cape Cod—places that brought her peace and happiness.

She is survived by her children, Christine Reardon (Jason), Sharon Tiernan and Edward Tiernan; her brother, Gerald Mello(Deborah); sixteen grandchildren; five great‑grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David M. Tiernan Jr.; her daughter, Lynne Peters; and her siblings, Antonio Costa‑Mello Jr., Margaret Mchugh, and Diane Tassoni.

Sandra’s service will be private.
