Thomas E. Keenan, Sr.

Thomas E. Keenan Sr, 74, of Exeter, Rhode Island passed peacefully away on Tuesday November 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 25, 1950, he was the husband of the late Linda A. Keenan (Sherman) and son of the late Edward Keenan Jr. and Gladys B. Keenan (Northup).

Thomas worked for the North Kingstown School Department for over thirty years. His family meant everything to him. He was innovative and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to work with their hands, creating and building things. He loved painting, trying new recipes, camping, restoring vintage toys, bingo, and card games. You could always find Tom outside tinkering in the yard or helping a friend with a project. He was a jack of all trades “master of all” with a can-fix-it attitude, a trait in which he passed down to his children.

Thomas is survived by his five children: Lisa Schartner and husband Jeb of North Kingstown, Lori Kerr and husband Chris of West Warwick, Thomas Keenan Jr. and wife Stephanie of South Kingstown, Richard Keenan and wife Kim of Coventry, and Kathi-Lee Albro and husband Chris of Exeter. His brother Eddie Keenan from Coventry and his sister Pat Williams from Florida. His grandchildren whom he loved very much; Amanda and Brittney Parfitt, Jeb Stuart Schartner, Kelsey Sullivan, Saige and Seneca Schartner, Dillon and Ryder Keenan, Andrew and Adam Albro and Jace Keenan. His great granddaughter Rylee Tourangeau. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with many close friends including his “bingo bitches”. He is predeceased by his siblings; Edward Keenan III, William Keenan Sr, Marion Gadoury, Daniel Burgess, and Robert Keenan Sr.

Thomas’s funeral services will be private. Because Tom was a generous soul, always willing to help others, please pay his memory forward with a random act of kindness.
