Thomas R. Wood

Thomas R. Wood, 78, of Main Street, Coventry, RI, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Riverview Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center of RI, Coventry, RI. Born on August 9, 1944, he was the husband of Doris M. (Lavoie) Wood. They were married for sixty-one years. He was the son of the late Irving and Frances (Sisson) Wood.

Thomas was a truck driver for Emac, North Kingstown, RI, for forty years before retiring in 2012. Thomas was very involved with River Point Advent Christian Church, West Warwick, RI.

Besides his wife Doris Wood, Thomas is survived by three children; Russell R. Wood, Thomas E. Wood and Holly Young, two brothers; Johnny Wood and Raymond Wood, seven grandchildren; Thomas E. Wood Jr., Christopher Wood, Kelley Wood, Brittany Blain and Jason Wood, Bethany Bailey and Danielle Bailey, five great grandchildren; Stacey, Tyson, Christopher Jr., Layla and Lexi, three great, great grandchildren; Damon, Jude and Vann and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother; Joseph Wood and a sister; Frances Paul.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
