David P. Cole, Sr.

David P. Cole, Sr., 76, of Stone Street Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the home of his son in Scituate, RI. Born in Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Myra J. (Hallam) Cole and the son of the late Ellis and Mildred (Baxter) Cole.

David worked in shipping and receiving for TW Evans Cordage Co., Inc., Cranston, RI, for twenty years until retiring in 2008. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by three children; David P. Cole, Jr. and his wife Cherie, Jeannette M. Shoulberg and her husband Todd and Dianna L. Cordova and her husband Julio, a brother; Merril Cole, two sisters; Judy Sawyer and Virginia Arling, six grandchildren; James, Misty, Stacy, Austin, Sirena and Jacob and three great grandchildren; Desiree, Alayna and Jacob. He was predeceased by two brothers; Norman Cole and Donald Cole and two sisters; Priscilla Anderson and Betty Southworth.

A US Military Honors Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10:00 am in the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
