Michael J. Clarke, 80, of Carley Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Coventry Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Coventry, RI. Born in West Warwick, RI, he was married for fifty-three years to Jacqueline V. (Brouillard) Clarke and was the son of the late Michael F. and Anne (Hunter) Clarke.
He was a salesman for ten years for Kuppenheimer Clothing in Warwick, RI, before retiring. Prior to that he owned and operated Plaza Foot Wear in Providence, RI, with his wife, and also worked at Milton’s Clothing in Warwick, RI.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters; Kathleen Gilbert, Lisa Johansen and her husband Erik, and Michelle Lydon and her husband Gary, six grandchildren: Rachel, Adam, Kyle, Erika, Ryan, and Matthew, a niece: Sharon Safarowic, and a nephew; David Person. He was predeceased by his sister; Mary Patricia (Clarke) Person.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Christ the King Church, 130 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, in West Warwick, RI. Kindly omit flowers.
