Raymond A. Craig

Raymond A. Craig, 86, of Hopkins Hill Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick, RI. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was married for sixty-one years to Mildred T. (Lachapelle) Craig and was the son of the late John and Mildred (Dietzel) Craig.

He was a supervisor at W.R. Cobb Company in Cranston, RI for thirty years, until his retirement in 1993. He belonged to the American Legion Post #2 in West Warwick, and was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Quonset Point Naval Air Station in North Kingstown, RI on the USS Cabot Naval Ship. He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children; Kim A. Ponte and her husband John, and Kurt A. Craig and his wife Dorothy, two granddaughters; Madison and Julia, and two sisters; Barbara Trewhella and Janet Salerno. He was predeceased by two brothers; Wesley Craig and John Craig, and four sisters; Shirley Gail, Mae Craig, Joan Craig, and Mildred Craig.

A memorial service followed by military honors will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail in Exeter, RI. We ask that everyone meet at the cemetery 11:45 am, prior to the service. Calling hours are omitted.
