Shirley J. Dorothy, 80, of Victory Highway, Coventry, RI, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, in Coventry, RI. Born in Foster, RI, she was the wife of Willis L. Dorothy, Sr. They were married for sixty years. She was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Ruth (Bradbury) Dexter.
Shirley worked at the deli counter for Stop & Shop Supermarket in Coventry, RI for five years until retiring.
Besides her husband she is survived by five children; Frank E. Dorothy and his wife Donna, David L. Dorothy and his wife Denise, Willis L Dorothy, Jr. and his wife Sandra, Kimberly A. Tourtellot and her husband Glenn and Nancy L. Cafaro and her husband Steven, Sr., twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 am from the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be in Phillips Memorial Cemetery, Foster, RI.
