Ted, Steve & Karen,
The obituary is absolutely correct. What a kind and gentle person she was. Her warmth and friendliness filled the room as soon as she entered. I have two of her beautiful paintings hanging in our living room that will always remind me of her.
I am sorry that I am unable to be there with you but my prayers and love are.

When we have reached "advanced " years, time does not just pass quickly, it escapes, it disappears, it is STOLEN!! Every day we say to ourselves (and others) we will do this or that". We say, "I will call or visit this person or that person," with every intent to follow through. Friends, family, & loved ones are always in our thoughts, minds, and prayers; and somehow we feel they will always be there when we actually decide to follow through. Then comes that thief - the one who steals that time. It leaves us with great sadness, grief and guilt when we find we didn't act and make our decision to visit soon enough, often enough. We are left with just memories. Memories, however, are not necessarily sad. They can be sweet. They can make you smile, even laugh.
As an Usher at Helen & Uncle Taseusz's(Teddy) wedding 60+ years ago! I can laugh because my Uncle is only about 5 or so years older than I (Tony).
We can smile and remember joining the celebration at the beautiful, loving renewal of those Wedding Vows, thinking that such marriage longevity is becoming a rarity. We enjoyed many family reunions at their house at Johnson's Pond when we all ,and our children, were so much younger, until that sneaky "time thief" went into action.
Helen and Ted raised a lovely, caring family. Helen's legacy, of course, will be as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, family member. However, Helen also left a lasting concrete legacy of beauty by using her God-given talents to create amazing art works that will bring joy to everyone who has the good fortunate to view them or own and pass to the next generation.
I/ we apologize for not being able to be with you personally to offer condolences and celebrate Helen's life. This "boy of summer" stayed too long at the game, and various injuries have resulted in several parts being repaired and replaced. This time, the shoulder replacement, makes driving impossible for several weeks.
Hopefully, if we can keep that "thief" at bay, and God willing, we will be able to see Ted soon. Keep well everyone.

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. Helen was a peaceful and kind woman who my entire family came to admire and respect for her many talents and loving heart. Having been her neighbor on the pond during the better part of my childhood will always be looked back at as a cherished and magical time in my life as well as in the lives of my siblings. Losing a parent is one of the most difficult things any of us will ever have to do. Remember, she is truly forever with us and when we speak to her she'll always be listening. Be peace, Ron
